Instead of a PBX
Four things you can name, and nothing you have to understand
A hosted PBX is only an improvement if it stops asking you PBX questions. These are the only objects in the system.
- A line
- A person or a role. A name, an email, an extension. It can make and take calls from a browser before any hardware exists. More
- A number
- Inventory. You assign it to a line, a group or a call flow and reassign it whenever you like. A line never needs one to exist. More
- A site
- An office. It holds the address, the time zone, the business hours and the calling permissions that everything beneath it inherits. More
- A call flow
- What happens when someone dials. One diagram per number, with the schedule on it as a step, rather than six separate modules to assemble. More
Two territories, two different answers
What we can actually do depends on which islands you are on
The +1-340 and +1-284 numbering plans are not equivalent, and no amount of product design changes that. Here is the short version; each page has the long one.

Emergency calling is not something we can promise yet
In the British Virgin Islands, emergency calling on a +1‑284 number is not supported at all. In the U.S. Virgin Islands, our carrier does not list the territory among those where it supports emergency calling, and arrangements are still being finalised — so we are not telling you that 911 works.
Keep a separate means of reaching emergency services, and tell everyone who uses the phone. Read the detail before you order.
